Yes, you can. Sometimes our users ask if we are going to implement synchronization of email between Lotus Notes and Google. However, there is already an easy way to automatically copy e-mails from your Lotus Notes to your Google account. We understand it might not be suitable for everyone, if not allowed by your IT admins, and also it's not a synchronization, however it's something really quick and easy.
We prepared a small tutorial describing how to do this using mail Rules in Lotus Notes for this purpose. You can definitely find more details on using Rules in Lotus Notes Help, but here we’d like to focus on the particular case of using Rules for creating full copies of your e-mails.
- Open your mailbox in Lotus Notes and click on the Rules to open the corresponding view:

- To create a new Rule, click on the New Rule option on the toolbar:

- Now you should define a condition: select “all documents”, since you need all your e-mails to be copied to Google and click Add button:

- Now the condition is added, and you need to specify required actions. Select “send copy to” and “full” options in the corresponding boxes, specify your Gmail account, and then click to Add Action button, to have the new Rule defined:

- Click OK, and your new Rule will appear in the list of existing rules, and your mail will be copied to specified Gmail account. It's that easy! This rule can be turned on and off when needed:

Note that the copied e-mails in Google will have the same appearance as in Notes, including rich text, Sender and Recipient. The only difference is that Notes native e-mail addresses are changed to the Internet.

Hello
Yes, like mpscan, i will understand it will cost some euros, but i need Lotus emails in Google !!!
Very good product.
"Send copy to" is not available on Lotus Notes 7
It would be so nice to have email sync in the future!
Hi, you have "send full copy", does the same
Neither i have this option...
Thx
Please note, that not only the version of your Lotus Notes client matters, but also the template, on which your mail database design is based (and a server version to support this design). So, you may want to check with your IT staff, why the design doesn't correspond with the version of Notes deployed.
strange i have 7.0.2 and i have it.
Hi
Unfortunately, the solution you provide may not work on all lotus notes configurations....so the question is: are you planing to enable email sync in the future, avoiding this kind of configuration (templates,...) stuff ?
Hi,
Yes, I do understand that published solution doesn't work on all Lotus Notes configurations (that's actually mentioned in the article). We're now evaluating if this should be done. We would definitely add this if it was relatively simple. However, in comparison with calendar and address book sync, synchronization of emails is significantly more complex from implementation point of view due to a variety of RTF and MIME formats to be supported throughout different Lotus Notes releases.
So, a decision on whether to start implementing this or not is depending very much on how we want to develop or modify this product strategically, as this is quite a significant development investment.
The send copy to also doesn't work for me.
Understanding the significant development investment, I know that I would be willing to pay additional for this "add-in" feature (to sync e-mail) -- up to $30.
Good point, thanks for bringing it up. I hope we'll get to this sooner than later. As soon as we have particular (with a calendar schedule) plans on this, I'll publish on our website.
Hi, I too would like to see one software that will do it all but for the time being I'm using Awesync for the contacts and calendar and WirelessMail, by Martin Scott, for the email. WirelessMail installs an Agent in Notes that forwards mail according to your configuration settings. Slick software but on it's own it is not enough. That is where Awesync comes in and does the rest of the job. If WirelessMail can make $60 a license for just email, imaging what people would be willing to pay for Awesync to do it all? :)
We'll have an assignment now to start researching and design the approach to mail sync. So, we'll keep you updated.
